The Task at Hand

The current focus on the needs in the greater Dulac areas are in direct response to the devastation caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005, Gustav and Ike in 2008 and now Hurricane Isaac in 2012. These terrible storms of 2012, 2008, and 2005 did not cause the real tragedy here, though, they merely exposed it. While we attempt to rebuild homes that lost roofs, or were flooded, or were completely destroyed, we are also attempting to address the systematic difficulties inherent in a community of poverty, we therefore, are rebuilding lives.

There is much to do here from construction work on individual homes, to construction work on church property, vacation bible school, to counseling and personal hand hand-holding, to education and staffing, to the sharing of talents, skills, and experiences.

You will be staying at the Dulac Community Center in dormitory style bunk beds. Please bring your own bath linens.

The cost is $50 per person. Please come by the church office to pay and fill out required paperwork.
